Enfield High School Girls to Play in Prestigious Hoophall Classic
The five-day showcase event in Springfield, featuring top scholastic teams from across the country, runs from Jan. 12-16.

ENFIELD, CT — Hoping to build on last year's record-setting run, the Enfield High School girls basketball team will be making a midseason appearance in one of high school's most elite showcases.
The Hoophall Classic, a five-day exhibition featuring 60 top high school boys and girls programs, is scheduled for Jan. 12-16, 2017 at the birthplace of basketball, Springfield College.
Five girls games will be played at Blake Arena on Friday, Jan. 13, with Enfield taking on Braintree (MA) in the third game at 6 p.m.

Enfield was 25-1 last season, running through the regular season and NCCC tournament unbeaten before being upset by Notre Dame-Fairfield in the Class M semifinals, 60-55.
The Eagles return all five starters, plus all but one player from a strong bench, and will be augmented by several key players from the former Fermi program, which merged with Enfield this year.

- Chicopee Comprehensive (MA) vs. Holyoke (MA), 4:30 p.m.
- Braintree (MA) vs. Enfield (CT), 6 p.m.
- Bishop Feehan (MA) vs. Long Beach Poly (CA), 7:30 p.m.
- Springfield Central (MA) vs. Ss. John Neumann-Maria Goretti (PA), 9 p.m.
