Enfield High School Briefly Placed on Lockdown
The school was in lockdown mode for about an hour during a police investigation into an alleged threat.

ENFIELD, CT — Enfield High School was placed in lockdown mode for about an hour Friday morning, according to police and school officials.
Police Chief Carl Sferrazza confirmed the school was placed in lockdown mode following a report to police that a girl messaged her ex-boyfriend around 4 a.m., claiming she "was going to shoot him, and her new boyfriend was going to help."
The 16-year-old girl who made the threat was unable to be located initially, prompting the lockdown status, but was subsequently found. No weapons were found, and Sferrazza said there was no imminent threat. She was taken into protective custody and transported to an area hospital, he said.

Police searched the school for the girl's new boyfriend, and when found, determined he had nothing to do with the situation, Sferrazza said.
"We take every single threat seriously, but we don't jump to the conclusion that there is imminent danger just because someone said so on a social media site," the chief said.
