Enfield HS Graduation Postponed To Saturday, June 15
Bad weather expected Friday night, June 14, prompted the decision.

ENFIELD, CT — Not only can't you fool Mother Nature, you can't defeat her either.
This is a key reason why Enfield High School's graduation was postponed Friday to Saturday, June 15, as expected, due to a weather forecast calling for heavy rain and thunderstorms.
EHS Principal Erin E. Clark sent out an e-mail to the school community Friday morning confirming the postponement.

"Due to the weather forecast, Enfield High School’s 2024 graduation ceremony is postponed until 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 15," Clark wrote.
She said school officials made every effort to determine if the graduation could happen as originally scheduled, but the forecast was just too dire.

"Rescheduling this outdoor event for over 4,000 people with a forecast of inclement weather is very difficult, and the district does not take this decision lightly," Clark said.
"We must consider several factors, including our contracted audio company, security coverage, staffing needs, and more."
In a twist, the Class of 2024 safe graduation party event is still planned for Friday evening and students who signed up to attend are expected to check in at 9 p.m.
Clark said this event is not school-sponsored.
