Enfield Man Charged in Attempted Pistol-Whipping Incident

Police were able to execute a warrant for his arrest Wednesday afternoon in connection with the mid-May incident.

ENFIELD, CT — An Enfield man was arrested Wednesday on a warrant accusing him of attempting to pistol-whip another man during a confrontation in May.

Deputy Police Chief Gary Collins said the May 19 incident began with a report of a small group engaging in a verbal dispute on Asnuntuck Street. The situation soon became physical when Johnathan Ramos, 31, allegedly removed a firearm from his waistband and unsuccessfully swung it at another man.

After an investigation, a warrant was prepared charging Ramos with criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, carrying a dangerous weapon, first-degree threatening, first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree breach of peace.
