Enfield Man Charged With Defrauding Family Member

He was arrested Tuesday on a warrant listing 14 charges against him.

ENFIELD, CT — A man who had been sought by Enfield police since mid-November with an outstanding warrant was arrested Tuesday.

Jonathan Rival, 35, was charged with fourth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor, and 13 felony counts of second-degree forgery. Bond was set at $5,000.

Deputy Police Chief Gary Collins said a complaint was received in mid-September from a person who claimed his bank account was being drained and checks were being used without his knowledge.

Investigation revealed a family member, identified as Rival, was responsible for the fraud, and a warrant was prepared. Police were unable to locate Rival, and in mid-November, placed him on their list of the town's wanted suspects.
