Enfield Man Charged With Sexual Assault of Teenage Girl

He turned himself in at Enfield police headquarters after learning of a warrant for his arrest.

ENFIELD, CT — An Enfield man was charged Tuesday in connection with a sexual assault alleged to have taken place in town last year.

Ernest J. Lavoie, Jr., 30, of 6 Joan Drive, turned himself in at police headquarters Tuesday afternoon. He is charged with second-degree sexual assault of a victim between 13 and 15 years old, risk of injury to a minor and illegal sexual contact with a victim under age 16.

He was released after posting $75,000 surety bond, and was scheduled to appear in Enfield Superior Court Wednesday.

Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said the warrant supporting Lavoie's arrest is sealed, and would only say the case involves at least one incident with a 15-year-old girl in 2016.
