Enfield Man Held On $150K Bond After Family Altercation

He is a convicted felon and served more than three years in prison, according to judicial records.

ENFIELD, CT — A convicted felon was arrested Monday on a warrant, following a domestic incident with his brother the evening before, police said.

Bruce Michaud, 32, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, failure to store a loaded firearm re: minor, first-degree threatening, risk of injury to a child, possession of a controlled substance and second-degree breach of peace.

He is being held in lieu of $150,000 bond, according to judicial records.

Police Chief Alaric Fox said police responded to a domestic disturbance involving Michaud and his adopted brother; the seriousness of the complaint led police to obtain a search warrant during the overnight hours, which was executed in the morning at 33 Asnuntuck Street. Assistance was provided by the CREST team.

Michaud was convicted of six offenses, including three felonies, in Jan. 2011: first-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree assault, risk of injury to a child, first-degree reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer and conspiracy to commit third-degree assault. He was sentenced to 42 months in prison, followed by three years of special probation, judicial records show.

Michaud was convicted again in Aug. 2018 on a charge of third-degree assault, receiving a one-year suspended sentence and a year's probation, according to judicial records.

He is scheduled to return to Enfield Superior Court July 2.
