Enfield Man Sentenced to Prison for Repeatedly Sexually Assaulting Young Girls

The sentence was handed down Thursday by a Hartford Superior Court judge.

ENFIELD, CT - An Enfield man who pleaded guilty last month to sexually assaulting a pair of young girls over an eight-year period was sentenced Thursday to 12 years in prison, according to judicial records.

James Menard, 45, was also sentenced to 10 years of special parole following his release.

In a June plea bargain agreement, Menard pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child, stemming from the repeated sexual assaults of the girls over an eight-year period, beginning when the youngsters were just 2 and 4 years of age.

He had originally been charged with 17 counts of first-degree sexual assault, 15 counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and 16 counts of risk of injury to a minor.
