
Allan McMillan Walker, 76, recent residence in Enfield, died on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Kimberly Hall in Windsor.
Born in St. Mary, Jamaica, West Indies to parents Ellen Moncrieffe and OV Walker, he is survived by a brother, John, an aunt, Novelette (Bloomfield), and numerous cousins in Jamaica, West Indies and the United States including, Margery, Jackie, Stephen (New York), Joan and husband Herbert (Florida), Doreen and husband Kenneth (Maryland), and Derrick (Jamaica, West Indies).
Allan graduated from Calabar High School in Jamaica, West Indies, and following this, worked with ALCAN, in Ewarton. He immigrated to the United States in 1960, and subsequently became a naturalized citizen. Allan served for four years in the United States Navy, and was recommended for Officers Training School. At completion of his naval service, he held the rank of Petty Officer. With subsequent employment at IBM’s Hartford office as a Field Engineer, he relocated to Enfield from his prior home in New London.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Allan’s many caregivers, who attentively cared for him at home over the past years, and to those at Kimberly Hall.
Allan’s funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 20, at 10 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. Burial with military honors will follow in Enfield Street Cemetery.
