Enfield Obituary: Francis Basnikiewicz, 68

Francis “Frank” W. Basnikiewicz, 68, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday August 18, 2015 at Hartford Hospital.

Francis was born on September 22, 1946 in Springfield, MA to the late Boleslaw and Aniela (Samborski) Basnikiewicz and was a lifelong resident of Enfield. Frank was a graduate of Enfield H. S. Class of 1964 and UConn, of which he was a lifetime member of the Alumni Association. He was employed with Aetna & Travelers Insurance Companies, and taught chemistry at Bacon Academy in Colchester. Frank was a member of Holy Family Church in Enfield and a member of the Army National Guard.

Frank is survived by his aunt, Jean Bugden of Enfield and cousin and best friend, Connie Sullivan of Longmeadow, MA along with several cousins and many friends.

Family and friends may gather during calling hours on Sunday August 23, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Monday August 24, 2015 with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home to Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery in Enfield.
