Enfield Obituary: Freida Prayzner, 95

Condolences to her family and friends.

Freida J. (Duda) Prayzner, 95, of Enfield, beloved wife of the late Walter J. Prayzner, died Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Parkway Pavilion Healthcare Center, Enfield.

She was born and raised in Enfield on March 20, 1920, daughter of the late Stanley and Apolonyia (Zeizoc) Duda and was a lifelong resident. Before retiring she was employed by the Crouse-Hinds Company for 15 years and prior to that for the Bigelow Carpet Company. Freida was a communicant of St. Adalbert Church, Enfield and she enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, Foxwoods Casino, watching the Red Sox and UConn Women’s basketball, and baking and cooking.

She leaves her children, Walter Prayzner and his husband, Allan Blume, and sons Ben, Zack and Jake of Jamaica Plain MA, Marge King of Enfield and Kathleen Cyr and her husband, Alan of Vernon; two sisters, Dorothy Duda of Enfield and Frances Cassotta of Ellington; grandchildren, Jonathan King and his wife, Andrea, Emily, Jessica and Daniel Cyr; a great grandson, Nathan King and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Felix and Edward, and sisters Wanda and Amelia.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 24 at 9:30 a.m. from the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Adalbert Church, 90 Alden Avenue, Enfield. Burial will follow at St. Adalbert’s Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to a donor’s choice.
