
James E. “Jim” Bauer, 83, of Enfield, beloved husband of 56 years to Nancy (Farrington) Bauer passed away peacefully Thursday, November 19, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 6, 1932 in Westport, and was the son of the late William and Helen (Danaher) Bauer. Jim lived in Norwalk for over forty three years before moving to Enfield. He was employed by Assumption Church in Westport, and then Pepperidge Farm for over thirty years. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the American Legion in Norwalk, and a longtime communicant of St. Philip’s Church in Norwalk where he volunteered for numerous hours. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, clamming, but especially spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife Nancy, he is survived by three children; Helen Sanford and her husband Richard of Colorado Springs, CO, Elizabeth Looby and her husband Richard of Rochester, NY, and Lynda Alexander and her husband David (Tony) of Enfield; nine grandchildren Courtney, Daniel, Richard IV (Ricky), John, Jacquelyn, Angel, David Jr., Brittney, and Toni; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by two sisters, Katherine Riley and Theresa Valoff.

Relatives and friends may join the family on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
