Enfield Obituary: Mary Everitt, 89

Condolences to her family and friends.

Mary “Velma” Everitt, 89, of Enfield, beloved wife of the late Richard Everitt, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at home.

She was born on October 3, 1926 in Hartford, CT and was the daughter of the late Patrick and Esther (Lavaseaur) Nadeau. Mary was a bookkeeper for the Nu-Way Tobacco Company for twenty years retiring in 1999. She was Past President of the Enfield Emblem Club #380, she was a volunteer at the Enfield Senior Center assisting with crafts, and she also worked part-time in the Enfield Town Hall in the Registrar of Voters office. Mary had a love for reading, word jumbles, and crafts.

She is survived by two sons, Bruce Everitt, and John Everitt both of South Carolina; six grandchildren, Chad, Jeremy, Aaron, Holly, Sean, and Samantha; six great grandchildren Anastasia, Kasey, Jasmine, Jayla, Chloe, and Carter; and a niece Mary Severns. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters Joanne George and Patricia Miranda and brother Leonard Nadeau.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield, CT.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Loaves and Fishes, 28 Prospect Street, Enfield, CT 06082 or St. Vincent DePaul Society, 23 Simon Road, Enfield, CT 06082.
