
Merline Rabb, 78, of Enfield, passed away Friday June 15, 2018.
Daughter of the late David and Fannie (Thames) Rabb, she was born in Freemanville, AL on August 14, 1939. Merline was one of nine children growing up on the family farm in rural Alabama. In 1959 she came to Hartford with her sister, the late Earline Rabb to be closer to their older siblings and family.
Merline worked at Stanadyne in Windsor in manufacturing until she retired in 1981. She found her passion for helping others when she began working at Community Partners In Action in Hartford. Everyone who knew Merline felt her love and knew that she would be there in times of need.

Those left to treasure Merline's memory include her sons, Michael Rabb (Kerri) of Brentwood, TN; Norris Rabb (Debra) of Stamford; daughters Patricia Rabb-Silva of Bloomfield and Sheila Rabb-Spicer of Enfield; brother, Willie Rabb (Hattie) of Hartford; sister, Veronica Rabb of Atlanta, GA; nephews, Freddy Rabb (Claudette) of Springfield, MA; Gregory Rabb of Springfield; Anthony Rawlins(Monica) of Springfield; niece, Nicole Rabb Byrom (Terrance) ; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and other nieces, nephews and cousins; many friends and long time friend Gerri Anderson of Bloomfield. She was predeceased by brothers, David Rabb, Jr., Henry C. Rabb, R.S. Rabb, and R.C. Rabb and sisters, Gloria Cille Witter and Earline Rabb.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, June 22nd at 5 p.m. in the chapel at The Lodge 130 Deerfield Road in Windsor. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-5 p.m. prior to the service. The Funeral in Alabama will be held Friday, June 29th at 2 p.m. at Mount Gillard Baptist Church, 12 Church St, Atmore, AL 36502 with burial following at The Rabb Family Cemetery in Freemanville, AL.
