Enfield Obituary: Robert Hill, 90

Condolences to his family and friends.

Robert F. "Bob" Hill, 90, of Enfield loving husband of Virginia (Desrosiers) Hill entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Blair Manor with his family by his side.

Bob was born May 25, 1926, in Richmond Hill, NY the son of the late Frederick and Florence (Thompson) Hill. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. Bob was employed as manager of the nuclear labs with the former Combustion Engineering and retired in 1988 after 32 years. He enjoyed woodworking and tending to his garden.

In addition to his wife, Virginia, of 30 years he is also survived by two sons, Robert F. Hill, Jr and his fiance Mary Alice Brennan of Perryville, MD and James R. Hill of Conway, SC; his extended family, Anne Battista and her husband, Frank of Enfield, Mary Ellen Slade and her husband, Dex of Enfield and James Desrosiers of Somerville, MA; his beloved grandchildren, Jacqueline Saad and her husband, Shaun Saad, Rachel Hill, Kathleen Battista, Kevin Battista, Kenneth Slade and his wife, Samantha, Emily Slade, and Caroline Slade; his great grandchildren, Tristan Hill, Tyler Hill, and Brody Saad. Bob was predeceased by his first wife, Jean, of 37 years and a grandson, Capt. Jeffrey A. Hill, US Air Force.

The family wishes to thank Blair Manor for the excellent and compassionate care during this difficult time.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Thursday, January 26, 2017, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral procession will gather on Friday, January 27, 2017, at 9 am at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield. Burial with military honors will be held in Simsbury Cemetery.
