
Roger J. Gagne, 78, a resident of Enfield since 1999, formerly of Windsor Locks, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016.
He was born June 19, 1937 in Lynn, Massachusetts and was the husband of the late Marie (D’Addario) Gagne who passed away in January, 1988. He graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1955 and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Hartford in 1973. Roger joined the U.S. Air Force in 1955 and became a Weather Observer serving at Osan AFB (K-55) in Korea and Dover AFB in Delaware during his four years of service. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by RCA in Hartford, CT for 12 years and then with CIGNA (Conn. General Life Ins. Co.) in Bloomfield for the next 24 years before retiring in 1995. Roger was a member of the Chicopee Lodge of Elks and the Northern Connecticut Radio Control Club in Ellington. He was also very proud of the fact that he was an 8 gallon donor to the American Red Cross Blood Drive.
He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Holly Russo and her husband Peter of Norwalk; and Denise Connors of Rocky Hill. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Brandon Russo , Rebecca Russo and Brody Connors, his three best friends ever. Roger was the youngest of his family of 13 siblings and is survived by Albert and Betty Gagne of Ellington; Jacqueline Gagnon of Vernon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may gather on Monday, February 22, 9:15 a.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. at St. Gabriel Church, Windsor. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. His family will receive friends on Sunday, February 21, from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Roger’s name to Beacon Hospice, 111 Founders Plaza Unit #1803, East Hartford CT 06108.
