Enfield Obituary: Santos Torres, 80

Santos F. Torres, 80, entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, September 8, 2015.

He was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico on November 1, 1934, the son of the late Roman Quinones and Hipolita Torres Pagan. Santos had resided most of his life in the Hartford area. He served his country honorably for seven years with the United States Air Force and later with the Army National Guard for thirty eight years. Santos was a member of the American Legion in Rockville and the Enfield Elks Lodge.

He is survived by five children: David and his wife Diane Torres, Randy Torres, and Ronald Torres, all of New York, Carole Turcotte and her husband Albert of Enfield, and Tina Marie Smith in Massachusetts. Santos also leaves several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, four brothers and five sisters along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are Monday, September 14, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield. Burial will follow with military honors in the Mass. Memorial Veteran’s Cemetery, Agawam, Mass. Calling hours are 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
