ENFIELD, CT — A Massachusetts resident accused of making illegal sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl, then threatening her family if she told them, was charged with four crimes Thursday.
Miguel Rivera, 47, of Holyoke, was charged with illegal sexual contact with a victim under age 16, fourth-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a child and second-degree threatening. He was held overnight in lieu of $150,000 cash or surety bond, and is slated to be arraigned Friday in Hartford Superior Court.
At 9:08 a.m., police received a call regarding a 13-year-old girl who was at a local hospital, reporting she had been sexually assaulted. Detectives responded to the hospital and learned the victim had been inappropriately touched by Rivera, and he had said he would kill her mother and siblings if she told anyone, Chief Alaric Fox said.
