Enfield Police Department Promotes Three Officers

The department now has a new captain, lieutenant and sergeant.

ENFIELD, CT — Three distinguished members of the Enfield Police Department were promoted in rank during a ceremony Wednesday at the Enfield Senior Center.

Steven Kaselouskas was promoted to captain, Bryan Nolan to lieutenant and Joshua Marquis to sergeant during the ceremony, presided over by Police Chief Alaric Fox.

STEVEN KASELOUSKAS

Captain Kaselouskas first joined the Enfield Police Explorers at age 13, going on to become a two-time Explorer captain, attending all four phases of the Explorer Police Academy, and serving as the “Chief of Police” in the Explorer Police Academy - Police Department. He served as an Enfield Auxiliary police officer for one year prior to being hired as an Enfield police officer on Jan. 10, 1993, when he realized his lifelong dream of being hired as a full-time member of the agency. He served as a Field Training Officer, was promoted to sergeant in Dec. 2001, and promoted to lieutenant in April of 2007. He has served as the Field Training and Evaluation Program Coordinator, as the Enfield Police Department Assistant Accreditation Manager, and on the Enfield Police Honor Guard. He continues to serve as a Connecticut POST State Accreditation Assessor, a board member of the Asnuntuck Community College Criminal Justice Advisory Committee, and an Internal Affairs Investigator. Kaselouskas has been the recipient of an Enfield Police Department Unit Citation Award, several departmental letters of commendation, the Hartford Police Department Merit Award Medal and the Westfield State University Academic Achievement Award. He has also been employed as an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice at Westfield State University since 2015. He holds an Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Asnuntuck Community College, and a Bachelor of Science Degree, and a Master of Science Degree, both in criminal justice, and both from Westfield State University.

BRYAN NOLAN

Nolan enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1998, where he served for four years on active duty in the Security Forces career field. After the military, and prior to his employment with the Enfield Police Department, he worked for the Transportation Security Administration. In Dec. 2004, he was sworn in as an Enfield police officer. As a member of the agency, he has served as a Field Training Officer and as a member of the Community Police Division. In 2013, he was promoted to sergeant and went on to also serve as the department’s Field Training and Evaluation Program Coordinator. Nolan served on the Capitol Region Emergency Services Team from 2011 through 2016. He also served as the commander of North Central Regional Narcotics Task Force, and later as a Detective Bureau Sergeant. He currently serves as a department firearms instructor, commander of the Enfield Police Department Honor Guard, and on the department's social media team. He has been the recipient of two departmental citations, a distinguished service medal, an outstanding unit citation, and several letters of commendation. In addition to his service to the Enfield Police Department, he has also been a member of the North Thompsonville Fire Department for nearly 23 years, currently holding the rank of Captain.

JOSHUA MARQUIS

Marquis was sworn in as an Enfield police officer on Sept. 25, 2011. He has an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from Asnuntuck Community College. In 2015, he became a Field Training Officer and has trained several new recruits. Marquis has served as a department and academy instructor in the areas of Firearms, Spike Strip, the Drager breath machine, and DUI detection and enforcement. He has recently become the lead department photographer and is currently in charge of the agency’s photography unit. In 2016, he received both an Enfield Police Department Distinguished Service Medal and a Mothers Against Drunk Driving award.
