Enfield Police Seeking Public Commentary For Re-Accreditation Process
The Enfield Police Department has been nationally accredited since 1996, and is seeking public input to maintain that status.

ENFIELD, CT — Since 1996, the Enfield Police Department has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). There are just 25 agencies in Connecticut accredited through this rigorous, nationally-recognized commission, and Enfield officials are seeking the public's input in maintaining that status.
Public comments about the department may be made through the CALEA Accreditation Public Comment Portal. Commentors may leave their name or, if preferred, remain anonymous.
Comments will be used to analyze the department's compliance with CALEA standards, its level of engagement in the community, how well it is serving the community and its overall candidacy for re-accredited status.

Officer Quannah Leonard, the department's accreditation manager, said, "It’s very important that we, as an agency, remain engaged and connected to our community that we serve and protect. This Public Comment Portal is one way that we can gauge our level of service to residents. I am proud to be part of this department and its commitment to the CALEA standard of adhering to the best practices in the law enforcement field."
"Our CALEA accreditation is one of the crown jewels of the quality and professionalism of the Enfield Police Department," Chief Alaric Fox said. "It ensures that our agency remains abreast of and consistent with the newest law enforcement trends and requirements. Our upcoming assessment, and community input in that regard, is integral to that process."
