ENFIELD, CT — The Enfield Police Department will increase DUI enforcement this Super Bowl Sunday as part of a focused effort to keep local roads safe during one of the year’s busiest drinking days.

Police said additional patrols will be out throughout the day and evening watching for impaired drivers as residents gather for Super Bowl parties and events. Officers urged anyone planning to drink to make arrangements for a sober ride home in advance.

“Plan a sober ride home — don’t drink and drive,” the department said in a reminder ahead of the game, encouraging residents to celebrate responsibly and make safety the top priority.

Police also reminded residents that impaired driving endangers not only the driver but everyone else on the road, and that enforcement efforts are intended to prevent crashes before they happen.
