Enfield Police Temporarily Close Portion of Washington Road

An investigation of a suspicious object has prompted police to divert motorists away from the area.

ENFIELD, CT - A police investigation on Washington Road has prompted police to urge motorists to avoid the area near Aloha Drive.

An Everbridge notification sent to residents read, "Please avoid the area of Aloha drive and Washington road. Police activity in the area may cause some temporary traffic delays."

Deputy Police Chief Gary Collins said a potentially dangerous object was found in a backyard on Washington Road, and Connecticut State Police are en route to investigate.
