Enfield Public Library Child's Fire Truck Restored
Enfield High School Art Students Restore Fire Truck for Enfield Public Library

Samantha Moreau, a senior at Enfield High School was the lead artist, along with sophomores, Astrid Nassau, Collette Moreau and Alyssa Dowding, who worked to restore a fire truck that is used at the Enfield Public Library for children.
Hazardville Fire Department, Lieutenant Ryan Cunningham reached out to Enfield High School Principal, Erin Clark to ask if restoring the fire truck would be of interest to high school students. Chris Scioscio, Enfield High School art teacher jumped at the opportunity and worked with the students to make this happen.
The restoration was an extra-circular activity over a two-week period of time. Students were excited to participate in a project that was lots of fun.

According to Library Director, Jason Neely, “The fire truck is one of the most loved parts of the Children’s section. Unfortunately, all of that love has led to some wear and tear over the years. We use the fire truck to display books on the fire trucks, fire fiighters and fire safety. It also has benches so that kids can sit there and read in it. It is one of the first stops my son makes when he comes into the library! We really appreciate the restoration of this very popular piece of furniture.”
