ENFIELD TRAVEL BASKETBALL

Pre-registration for Travel Basketball player evaluations for those in grades 5-8 is currently open and ends on Monday, October 10th at 11:59 PM. Those who are interested in joining Travel Basketball must participate in player evaluations to be considered for the team. Pre-registration is required in order to participate in player evaluations. Evaluation dates to be announced in early October. There is no fee for player evaluations, and this program is for Enfield residents only. Interested coaches must submit a coaching application to the Recreation Office before October 6, 2022 at 4:00 PM. Visit our website for complete information.

DOLPHINS SWIM TEAM

The Dolphins Swim Team is for boys and girls ages 5-18 years old as of December 31, 2022. Fee is $199.00 residents / $249.00 non-residents. Resident registration begins on Friday, October 7th at 8:30 AM and non-resident registration begins Friday, October 14 at 8:30 AM. A limited number of spots are available, so it is highly recommended that you register early. New Swimmers should not register unless they have been evaluated and told by the Recreation Department they are eligible to participate. For information on evaluations, please visit our website. We will not take any additional registrations for new or returning swimmers after Friday, November 4 , 2022 at 4:00 PM.

ADULT COED VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE

Enfield Recreation Department will be offering an Adult Coed Volleyball League this fall/winter. The league will be playing on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in Enfield. There will be a maximum of 8 teams allowed in the league. At the end of the season there will be playoffs and a championship. This is a recreational and fun league that has players of all different abilities. Please email Cliff Zimmer (czimmer@enfield.org) before September 30, 2022 if you are interested in entering a team into the league.

MARTIAL ARTS CLINICS

Enfield Recreation, in conjunction with Integrity Martial Arts of Enfield, is offering FREE, four-day clinics! Participants will explore the world of martial arts and be introduced to character development topics. Classes will be held October 3 – 14, 2022 at various times. The clinics are for youth ages 4-5 and ages 6-10. Registration can be done at integritymartialarts.com. Once there you can select the days and times that you want. Use the promo code “ENFIELDREC” at checkout. Program will meet at the Integrity Martial Arts Studio in Enfield. Spaces are limited and pre-registration is required. SKYHAWKS MULTI-SPORT TOTS

Youth ages 2-5 years old can take part in this multi-sport program that covers baseball, basketball and soccer. This program uses age-appropriate games and activities to explore balance, hand-eye coordination, fitness and more. This program will be held Tuesdays, October 4 – November 1, 2022, in the Parkman gym. Ages 2-3 will be held from 5:00-5:45 PM and Ages 4-5 will be held from 6:00-6:45 PM. Registration will be through Skyhawks at www.skyhawks.com. Fee is $85.00 residents / $95.00 non-residents. Registration is ongoing. Space is limited. Pre-registration is required.

FISHING FIELD TRIP WITH CARE

Adults and families with children 6 years and older can take part in our upcoming fishing field trip! Join the CT DEEP CARE program this fall to learn the basics of the sport and get you started on a lifelong journey of fishing. All fishing equipment, bait and expert instruction will be provided for use during the fishing trip. The event will take place on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, from 4:30 PM - 7:00 PM at Freshwater Pond. This program is free, however pre-registration is required online at www.ct.gov/DEEP.

TINY EXPLORERS COOKING WORKSHOP

Bring your tiny food explorer to an hour of delicious food exploration and education. Explore the food groups of MyPlate and create a fun and tasty snack together, all while encouraging food play and exploring new flavors and textures. This program is for kids ages 3 to 5 and is a parent and child class. The workshop will be held on October 6, 2022, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Enfield Annex. ADULT CHAIR VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM

Chair Volleyball program will be held for adults 55 and over on Thursdays, October 6 – February 2, 2023, at the Enfield Annex. The program will run from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Thursday afternoons. YOUTH CHESS CLUB

Youth in grades 3 – 6 can play and learn chess with their peers! This program is designed to provide a setting for youth to develop their skills and knowledge of this classic game. No prior experience is required. The program will be held on Saturdays, October 15 – November 19, 2022, from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Enfield Annex. The fee is $35.00 residents / $44.00 non-residents. MAGIC THE GATHERING GAME DAY

This is a one-day event where the participants will learn how to play the popular game Magic: The Gathering COMMANDER. Participants will receive and be able to keep a 100-card playing deck, sleeves to protect their cards, three matches of play, prizes and lunch will all be included. This program is for novice players. The game day is open to youth ages 12 to 15 years old. The game day will be Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 10:30 AM – 4:00 PM at the Battle Standard Store in East Windsor, CT. The fee is $79.00 residents / $99.00 non-residents. Registration is ongoing. BULLY SAFE KIDS’ NIGHT

Enfield Recreation, in conjunction with Integrity Martial Arts of Enfield, is offering a FREE class to help kids ages 6-12 years old learn strategies to deescalate situations and how to defeat bullies without fighting. Participants will learn social balancing and will participate in role playing scenarios. The program will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at the Integrity Martial Arts Studio. PET CPR AND FIRST AID

Learn how to respond to health emergencies and provide basic first aid to your dog or cat. Participants will learn rescue breathing, pet CPR, choking protocol and assessing your pet’s vitals. There will be an option to obtain a pet CPR and First Aid Certification as well. Class will be taught by a certified Pet CPR and First Aid instructor. The class will meet on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, from 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM at the Enfield Annex. See website for pricing options. Registration is ongoing.
