Enfield Rep. Pleads Not Guilty in DUI Case

The 58th District legislator was charged with his second offense in July in West Hartford.

HARTFORD, CT — State Rep. David Alexander of Enfield entered a plea of not guilty to charges of operating under the influence stemming from his July arrest in West Hartford, the Hartford Courant reported.

The two-term representative of the 58th District in the General Assembly pleaded not guilty Thursday in Hartford Superior Court.

He had been charged July 16 with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol, failure to carry a certificate of registration or insurance and failure to drive in proper lane following a traffic stop on Interstate 84 around 1:45 a.m.

In early 2015, Alexander was arrested on similar charges in Windsor Locks. Those charges were dismissed when he completed an alcohol education program.
