The victim had to be hospitalized following the assault, police said.

ENFIELD, CT - An Enfield man was arrested late Sunday night after a verbal argument over a beverage escalated into violence, according to a police report.
Nathaniel Wheat, 26, of 11 Impala Drive, was charged with second-degree assault on an elderly victim and disorderly conduct. He was held on $25,000 bond.
Police were called to a home on Prospect Street around 11:15 p.m. for a reported assault. Upon arrival, officers found Wheat walking north on Prospect Street, Chief Carl Sferrazza said.

A 61-year-old man told police Wheat had been arguing with his daughter when the man interceded, prompting Wheat to punch him in the face, Sferrazza said.
Upon interviewing Wheat, police were told he admitted arguing with the woman and her father "because the man took his beer without asking," Sferrazza said.
