Enfield Resident Surrenders After Police Standoff In Vernon
A standoff at a Vernon home ended with seven charges against the accused burglar.

VERNON, CT — A 42-minute standoff with police at a Vernon home ended with seven charges being levied against the accused burglar, a report indicates.
The incident took place at 1:38 a.m. Thursday, according to a report. When police arrived at the scene, the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Joshua Garrison, of Enfield, was still at the home and refused to leave, according to a report.
He was finally talked outside 42 minutes later, according to a report.

- Garrison was charged with:
- Home invasion
- First-degree burglary
- Possession of burglary tools
- Second-degree threatening
- Interfering with police
- Second-degree breach of peace
- Criminal attempt at assaulting a publoic safety officer
Garrison's initial $250,000 bond was knocked down to $150,000 at a Thursday arraignment, an amount he failed to post. He was still in custody Friday afternoon and is due back in Rockville Superior Court on June 14, records show.
