Enfield Rotary offers scholarships to college juniors, seniors and grad students from Enfield

Scholarships available to college upperclassmen and women, as well as graduate students. Application deadline is June 15.

The Enfield Rotary Memorial Scholarship Foundation, Inc., is offering scholarships to Enfield residents who will be entering their junior or senior year in college or other post-high school education. Students entering their third, fourth or later year in nursing schools or community colleges, as well as college graduates entering advanced degree programs, are also welcome to apply. There is no age limit.

Application are available on the Enfield Rotary Club website: www.enfieldctrotary.org. Copies are also available at Freshwater Veterinary Hospital, 151 Hazard Ave., and Minuteman Press, 1 Anngina Dr. The application deadline is June 15.

The Rotary Scholarship application comprises four one-page essays. Scholarships are awarded based on a number of factors, including financial need, academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial self-help initiatives.

Last year, a total of $9,000 in scholarships was awarded by the Foundation. Since 1956, the Enfield Rotary Memorial Scholarship Foundation has awarded more than $274,000 to college students from Enfield.
