Enfield's Memorial Day Parade Slated For Sunday

Marchers will walk from the Felician Sisters grounds to the Town Green, beginning at 1 p.m.

An Enfield tradition continues Sunday, with the annual down Route 5.

The procession begins at 1 p.m. at the , and winds northward up Enfield Street to the Town Green, where a ceremony will be held.

Historically, the Memorial Day parade is Enfield's largest, consisting of school bands, veterans' groups, elected officials, youth leagues and much more. Crowds at the May parade are usually the biggest of the year.

Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman and U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney are scheduled to walk in the parade, according to Veterans' Council chairman Ted Plamondon. Courtney is slated to be the guest speaker at the Town Green ceremonies.
