Enfield Safe Harbor Warming Center Awarded Grant
The Archdiocese of Hartford's Office for Catholic Social Justice awarded a $1,000 grant ESHWC to address food insecurity

Enfield, CT, November 3, 2021 – The Enfield Safe Harbor Warming Center has been awarded a $1,000 grant from the Archdiocese of Hartford's Office for Catholic Social Justice Ministry (OCSJM) to help the Center in addressing food insecurity among the homeless population in Enfield.
“We are grateful for this generous support for our mission,” said Rosalind Swift, the Center’s Communications Chair. “Too many people assume that homelessness and hunger don't exist in our community. Our mission is to address these needs and ultimately to work to mitigate the problem of housing insecurity in our community.”
The OCSJM administers these grants as part of the Archdiocese of Hartford's participation in the Catholic Relief Service's "Rice Bowl" program during Lent each year. Each year, 25% of the funds collected in the Archdiocese are retained to support local communities to address issues related to poverty and hunger.
