Enfield School Board Member to Resign in April

Health reasons are cited for his decision to step down from his post.

ENFIELD, CT — Raymond Peabody, a member of the Enfield Board of Education for more than three years, announced Tuesday night he will be resigning effective April 28, for health reasons.

Peabody, 60, made the announcement during board member comments at the regular Tuesday meeting. He said he "will be virtual for the month of April to help with the budget process and to advocate for our teachers," but Tuesday would be his final formal meeting.

He said he is currently going through an "aggressive prostate cancer treatment plan which is very draining," and his medical team recommended he step down from his duties.
