Enfield School Principal Is Disciplined

The administrator reportedly didn't notify school officials and police about an incident involving a student; She will be transferred July 1

The principal of Prudence Crandall Elementary School has been suspended and is facing a transfer following what is reportedly another school safety incident.

Altressa Cox-Blackwell, 53, who has been disciplined twice this school year, has been suspended without pay and will be transferred July 1 to Enrico Fermi High School where she will work as an assistant principal, according to The Courant.

The newspaper cites a seven-page memo from Enfield Public Schools’ chief personnel officer John Coccia that details the latest incident. She is accused of failing to notify the district’s central administration office or Enfield Police of an April incident in which a student reportedly made physical contact with school personnel and threatened to harm others and himself.
