Enfield Schools Alter Friday's Schedule
A wintry mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain is developing, and a weather advisory has been issued for much of Connecticut.

ENFIELD, CT — An expected wintry mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain has caused school officials in Enfield to dismiss students early on Friday, Dec. 22. All Enfield public schools, Stowe Early Learning Center, parochial schools, Head Start and CREC Public Safety Academy will follow the early dismissal schedule with lunch. Afternoon preschool classes have been canceled. All after school activities, Park & Recreation and Enfield Adult Education Classes have been canceled. Enfield Child Development Center and ERfC School Age Centers will remain open.
Dismissal times are:
- Head Start – Regular & Ext Day – 10:55 a.m.
- Morning Pre-K – 11:10 a.m.
- Afternoon Pre-K – canceled
- High School (9-12) – 12:20 p.m.
- Middle School (6-8) – 1 p.m.
- Intermediate Schools (3-5) – 1:35 p.m.
- Primary Schools (K-2) – 1:50 p.m.
- Pre-K STEAM Academy – 2 p.m.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for much of Connecticut, including Hartford County, from 11 a.m. Friday until 10 a.m. Saturday.
