Enfield Student Goes Above And Beyond To Earn Eagle Scout Rank
Anthony Rosato has set a personal goal of earning at least 100 merit badges before he ages out of scouting when he turns 18.

ENFIELD, CT — Since the founding of Boy Scout Troop 108 in Hazardville in 1938, just 93 boys have earned the rank of Eagle Scout. The latest came in mid-July, when Anthony Rosato concluded his Eagle Scout Board of Review and successfully completed all requirements.
For his Eagle Scout project, Rosato, 16, refurbished 20 wooden picnic tables at the Tanguay-Magill American Legion Post 80 pavilion on Enfield Street. He completely sanded and re-stained them.
"Anthony has set a personal goal of earning at least 100 merit badges before he ages out at the age of 18," his dad Jerry said. "He still has plenty of time to reach his goal."

To date, the teen has earned 91 merit badges, as well as several gold, silver and bronze palms.
"To earn your Eagle Scout rank, you only need to complete 21 merit badges, so he has gone above and beyond the minimum requirements for Eagle," his dad said.

An incoming sophomore at Enfield High School, Rosato was inducted into the Order of The Arrow - scouting’s National Honor Society - and earlier this year was elevated to a brotherhood member.
He was awarded his Eagle Scout neckerchief at a ceremony July 26 at Yawgoog Scout Reservation Camp in Rockville, Rhode Island, where his troop was attending summer camp for the week. A formal ceremony will take place next month in Enfield to recognize his achievement.
