Enfield Students Return to School [PHOTOS]
Wednesday marked the beginning of the 2019-20 school year in Enfield, and dozens of parents and grandparents shared their first day photos.

ENFIELD, CT — Wednesday marked the opening of the 2019-20 school year for Enfield students, which means a plethora of photos would find their way onto Facebook pages across the town. Patch asked readers to share photos of their loved ones toddling off to school, and we were overwhelmed with response.
My own memories of the first day of school every year would send me screaming into the night, as the annual tradition of my mom and the mom across the street posing at the curb in their robes and hair rollers (and in my mom's case, sometimes without her teeth in) was enough to make anyone toss their lunch. Even after 45 years, I still get a full body dry heave just thinking about that. Thankfully, no photos of that sort found their way onto our Facebook page today.
We had so many photos posted that we can't possibly publish them all. Instead, here is a sampling of a few that were provided, with the complete submissions available for viewing on the Enfield Patch Facebook page at the bottom of this story. Thanks to everyone, and let's hope all of our kids (including my daughter, now a high school senior) have a great school year.
