Enfield Tax Rate Unchanged In Approved 2020-21 Town Budget

ENFIELD, CT — Taxpayers in Enfield will not be faced with an increase for the next fiscal year, as the town council recently approved a 2020-21 budget which keeps the mill rate at 34.23.

The approved total budget of $138,911,188 represents a bump of just 0.67 percent from 2019-20. Of that amount, $71.69 million, or 51.6 percent, is allotted to the Board of Education.

On the town side, nearly half of the $67.2 million is for "non-departmental charges," including debt service, transfers and contingency, pension and retirement services and liability and other insurance.

Public works has been allocated $17.1 million, public safety is budgeted at $13.2 million and "general government" is $3.5 million.
