Enfield Upends Fermi in Boys Volleyball Finale

The crosstown rivals will be combined into one high school beginning in September.

ENFIELD, CT - In the final meeting between longtime crosstown rivals, Enfield defeated Fermi 3-1 in boys volleyball action Thursday night at the Fermi gymnasium.

The two high schools will be combined at the Enfield Street campus beginning with the 2016-17 school year.

Game scores were 22-25, 25-19, 25-22 and 25-18.

Dillon DeSouza led the winners with 13 kills and seven blocks. Justin Rankin had 10 kills for the Raiders.

For Fermi, Jared Cournoyer had eight kills, three blocks and two aces, while Thomas Vose added 30 assists.

Enfield (10-9) is currently ranked seventh in Class M, and will likely have a first-round home game in the state tournament.

Fermi finished its season 5-15.
