12th Annual Connecticut Veterans Day Parade

Step-off will take place at 12:30 p.m. near the State Capitol building.

Last year, the Connecticut Veterans Parade was attended by 40,000 spectators, 135 Military and Veterans groups and 25 musical groups, and close to 4,000 marchers representing 68 towns.

The Veterans Day National Committee in Washington, D.C. recognized the parade as one of the nation's official "2011 Veterans Day Regional Sites."  It was one of 53 entities in the entire U.S. and the only Connecticut recipient of the prestigious honor.

This is the largest Veterans Parade in the New England, and one of the largest in the country.

The parade includes a Moment of Silence with a tolling of the Center Church bell and a stirring rendition of the national anthem.  It is a sight to remember.
