Enfield Fireballs Fundraising Dance

The Enfield Fireballs are a member of the Northern Connecticut Girls' Softball League. The N.C.G.S.L., a non-profit organization, is Connecticut's largest girls' fastpitch league and includes over twenty member towns in the north central region of the state. The league was organized in 1998 as a summer league designed to provide area players with an affordable season of competitive fastpitch softball and adopted most of the C.I.A.C. rules which govern local school programs. In order to compete, players must either reside in or attend school in the town that the team represents to allow players on area school teams the opportunity to play more games together and to offer other players a means of improving their skills to the varsity level.

Enfield has been involved with summer softball ever since the league was organized in 1998 and currently participates at the u-12, u-14 and u-16 levels. The teams compete against area towns from mid to late June and conclude with the league tournaments during the last weekend in July and the first two weekends in August.

Unfortunately, the Town of Enfield has dropped their middle school sports programs, so programs like the Enfield Fireballs (softball), The Enfield Reds (baseball) and the Enfield Travel Basketball (basketball) organizations are vital to the development of our youth in order for them to be able to compete at the next level.

Programs such as the Fireballs rely on fundraising and donations to keep the participation fees reasonable.  Once again, The Enfield Fireballs are teaming up with RTM (Live Music) for their Annual Fundraiser Dance.  The Dance will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011, 6:00 p.m. to midnight at the Enfield Elks Club, North Maple Street, Enfield.  The Annual Fundraiser is a wonderful event and a great way to celebrate the upcoming season.

For information concerning the dance, and/or to purchase tickets, please contact Alan Maier at 860-741-3832.

The Enfield Fireballs hold open tryouts just after the high school seasons wrap up which is usually the last week of May.
