Enfield PD Cop-on-Top

The Enfield Police Department and Enfield Square (www.shopenfieldmall.com) have teamed up again to support Special Olympics Connecticut’s Cop-on-Top fundraiser. Don’t miss out on this special event! Officer Ed Kaczmarek will climb on top of Enfield Square where he will remain until the fundraising goal of $5,000 has been met – that means spending the night if he has to! He needs your help to get off the roof. Visit him on Saturday June 23rd and Sunday June 24th and make a donation to Special Olympics Connecticut and help them on their way to raising $5,000. Enfield Police Explorers, Enfield Police Auxiliary, and an Enfield Police K-9 officer with his partner “Promise” will be on hand to meet and greet the public as well Enfield Police vehicles and other officers.

All the money raised will go support over 13,000 athletes with and without intellectual disabilities who participate in Special Olympics Connecticut programming.

About the Special Olympics Connecticut Law Enforcement Torch Run®
The Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Connecticut is one of the movement's largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicles. This year-round program involves law enforcement officers from across the state who volunteer their time to raise awareness and funds through events including Tip-a-Cops, Cop-on-Tops, Jail N’ Bails. In 2011, the Torch Run raised over $500,000 for Special Olympics Connecticut.

In addition, on June 6, 7 and 8, 2012, over 1,500 officers and athletes will carry the Special Olympics "Flame of Hope" - as they do every year - through hundreds of cities and towns across the state, covering over 530 miles. The runners will reach Southern Connecticut State University where they’ll be part of Opening Ceremonies for the Special Olympics Connecticut Summer Games, June 8-10, 2012.
