St. Bernard Church once again is holding its annual parish carnival on the grounds of the church, 424 Hazard Ave.
The carnival this year will be held from Thursday, May 31, through Saturday, June 2. The fair will run from 6 to 10 p.m. each day. Admission is free.
This year’s carnival once again features rides provided by Bowdoin Amusements of Torrington. Wristbands will be on sale every evening for $20, entitling the purchaser to unlimited access to the fairground's rides throughout the evening. There also will be individual ride tickets.

In addition, there will be games of skill, a kiddieland, and other family activities. There also will be an expanded selection of state-sanctioned games of chance on the carnival's midway, including an hourly 50-50 raffle, as well as sealed tickets and a "Blower Ball Cash" game.
The fried dough and french fries booth long staffed by parishioners will make its return, and Danny's Pizza will prepare hamburgers, meatball grinders, and pulled pork sandwiches every night. There also will be parishioner-staffed booths offering small doughnuts, Italian ices, strawberry shortcake, and sundaes, as well as coffee, soda, beer, and wine.
