‘Fall for Enfield’ on October 7th filled with Family Fun

ERfC hosts family fun event this Saturday on the Enfield Town Green. Free Admission!

ENFIELD—‘Fall for Enfield’ is shaping up to be a full day of family fun on Saturday, October 7th on the Enfield Town Green from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Admission to the event, hosted by Educational Resources for Children, Inc. (ERfC), is free and will be held rain or shine.

ERfC event organizer Connie Provencher said, “We’re really excited to provide this new fall event for Enfield and surrounding communities and hope to see a lot of folks out on the green next Saturday. ‘Fall for Enfield’ is an opportunity to create more awareness of all the services provided here in this community for families. Everyone is welcome to stop by and enjoy.”

‘Fall for Enfield’ will include music all day long, activities for kids and families, pizza eating contests, over 50 arts & crafts, product vendors and many food vendors to help satisfy everyone’s appetite.

Provencher said several activities, designed by community partners from a variety of organizations, will keep everyone active. In addition to a life-sized memory game at the ERfC booth, new activities added to the event list include scarecrow arts and crafts from The Network; fruit decorating with Shop Rite of Enfield; bean bag toss games from Asnuntuck Community College; and spider lollipop crafts with The Lutheran Church of our Redeemer.

Crystal’s Fun Spot, the new entertainment center located at the Enfield Square Mall, will be on hand with a mixture of fun activities including a bounce house, foosball table, and car games. “We’re bringing fun for all ages,” said owner, Christine Walker.

Provencher said Air Time Gymnastics of Enfield also has a treat for the community. Members from their competitive team will be performing demonstrations and staff will be on hand to speak with interested students.

ERfC Event & Program Coordinator, Melissa Shea said ‘Fall for Enfield’ will also feature artwork by local middle school student, Mary Jordan, a 7th-grade student at JFK Middle School. Shea said, “as part of an art activity at the JFK After School Center, Mary created and painted a funny photo carnival cut-out designed especially for our visitors to take photos throughout the day to share with family and friends.”

Provencher said ‘Fall for Enfield’ would not be complete without a great list of local food vendors. You can start the morning by purchasing artisanal roasted coffee from Gypsy Joe Coffee of Ellington and pair with the fresh donuts from Faddy’s Donuts out of East Hartford. As the afternoon begins, a variety of food options will be available throughout the day including pulled pork, hamburgers, hot dogs, vegan food and so much more.

ERfC, also known as Educational Resources for Children, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization, has been providing out-of-school time activities for families and children in Enfield since 1994. ERfC operates many out-of-school time programs in Enfield for grades K-8, including Before & After School Centers, Vacation Destination, and Afterschool Adventures in Enfield Schools.
