Fermi Cross Country Splits With Rockville

Boys win, but girls fall in dual meet with CCC East opponent.

On a gorgeous October afternoon in Vernon, the Fermi High School cross country teams had mixed success in a dual meet with CCC East foe Rockville Tuesday.

The boys posted a 19-39 victory, but the girls’ team dropped a 24-35 decision.

Thomas Vose was the overall winner, finishing the 3.1 mile course in 19:32. Teammate Eric Barnes was a close second, while Sam Nash was third.

For the girls, Sydney Nash blew away the field in a time of 19:53, more than a minute and a half ahead of her nearest competitor

The Falcons will be back in action Oct. 13, hosting Bloomfield at Powder Hollow Park at 3:45 p.m.
