The best season in Fermi boys volleyball history ended on an unfortunate note Tuesday evening.

The Falcons traveled to Oxford High School to take on top-seeded Darien in the Class M semifinals, but the powerful Blue Wave proved too much to handle, winning three straight games to advance to the state championship match Friday against Newington.

Game scores were 25-14, 25-17 and 25-19.
