In a battle of crosstown rivals that came down to the final point in each game, host Fermi outlasted Enfield 3-1 in boys volleyball action Tuesday night.
Game scores were 25-27, 25-23, 25-23 and 25-23.
"It never comes down to who's the better team," Fermi coach Alex Pyznar said. "That all goes away when it's Enfield and Fermi. Enfield played tough, as we expected."

Josh Cheney led the Falcons with 13 kills and five blocks, while Greg Zaylor added 12 kills and three blocks. Cody Brown had 34 assists and five kills, while Daryl Biron had eight service points.
"Fermi had some good blocks," Enfield coach Judy Joslin said. "We kept in it and didn't lose confidence, and I know we wanted it."

For the Raiders, Mark Sanzo had 16 kills, Hugh Lindo had 15 kills and Jason Xiong had 31 assists.
Fermi (8-2) travels to Bloomfield Wednesday at 5 p.m. Enfield (7-4) visits East Hartford Thursday at 5 p.m.
