ENFIELD, CT — A fire in a laundry room at the Motel 6 prompted a brief evacuation of the premises early Sunday afternoon as firefighters quickly contained the situation.

The fire was reported as a "structure fire" at 11 Hazard Ave. around 12:05 p.m. The fire was limited to an industrial dryer in the laundry room, Thompsonville Fire Chief David Deskis said.

Mutual aid was provided by all five Enfield fire departments. Within 35 minutes, guests at the motel were allowed to return to their rooms.
