Fire Displaces Family In Green Manorville Section of Enfield
Firefighters quickly knocked down a fire in the attic of a house in the Green Manorville section of town.

ENFIELD, CT — An early morning fire Monday left some residents of the Green Manorville section of town temporarily without housing.
The fire at 194 Jackson Road was reported around 12:30 a.m., beginning on the exterior of the ranch-style house and extending into the attic. Mutual aid from all five Enfield fire departments assisted at the scene, and the blaze was brought under control in about 20 minutes, Hazardville Fire Chief Jack Flanagan said.
A dog alerted the residents to the fire, and three occupants plus the dog escaped unharmed. The family was placed temporarily in an area motel thanks to some helpful dispatchers, Flanagan said.

"The dispatchers made some calls to help find a motel that would take a dog," Flanagan said. "They went out of their way to help."
The American Red Cross also assisted the family. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
