Enfield Resident Among Five KO Girls to Get Postseason Soccer Awards

A standout player from Enfield was named All-League and All-State for the second year in a row.

Five girls on the Kingswood Oxford varsity soccer team have earned local and regional postseason awards, following a remarkable 10-2-4 season in which the team was a quarterfinalist in the NEPSAC Class B tournament for the second consecutive year.

The girls and their honor are as follows:

  • All-WWNEPSSA (All-League): Marissa Aniolowski ‘16 of Enfield, Sam March ‘17, Emma Ouellette ‘18
  • All-State: Aniolowski, March, Charlotte Cyr ‘19
  • Boston Globe All-Star: Julia Lantieri ‘18; Lantieri was also tapped for this honor in 2013

This is the second year in a row that Aniolowski was named All-League and All-State.

“All of the girls understand that individual commitment to a group effort is what enables a team to find success,” said Head Coach Tracy Deeter. “These players are being recognized for their individual contributions, but they also definitely know that their success is the result of the entire team’s success.”

Kingswood Oxford School, the preeminent independent day school in the Greater Hartford region, is located at 170 Kingswood Road in West Hartford, just steps from Blue Back Square and West Hartford Center. The 507 students come from 62 towns in CT and western MA, as well as China and South Korea. Head of School Dennis Bisgaard is celebrating his tenth year as Head.

The school is conducting interviews for September 2016 enrollment; only those applications completed by Feb. 1, 2016, will be eligible for merit scholarships. For information or to schedule an interview, call the Admissions Office at 860-727-5000.
