Fixing Congress--Only the Voters can do it

We have the authority and the responsibility

Recent polls tell us that 90% of voters are not happy with the job Congress is doing. I am part of that 90%--that’s the only reason I’m running for Congress.

I want to ask those of you who want something different to do a bold thing. Many of you are so discouraged that you are thinking of staying home or voting the same as usual, thinking nothing can be done.

If you do that, we all know what’s going to happen: Joe Courtney is going to win 2/3 of the votes. If voters in other districts across the US all do the same thing, we will end up with the same kind of Congress we currently have and we will feel the same as we do now.

If, instead, we use our votes as the powerful tools for change they are, and send a strong signal to Washington that business as usual is not okay, then we stand a chance of getting the change we all want. We are not responsible for what voters in other districts do, but we are responsible for what we do. No one will be elected without our votes. We have the authority--and the responsibility--to take back our government. We can do this.
