Frank P. Rzasa, 93; Retired Enfield Police Lieutenant; Lifelong Town Resident

Frank P. Rzasa, 93, Retired Lt. Enfield Police Dept., of Enfield, husband of the late Helen M. (Jamrogowicz) Rzasa, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Parkway Pavilion in Enfield.
He was born on February 2, 1921, in Enfield, CT, the son of the late Peter and Victoria (Gonsior) Rzasa.

Frank was a lifetime resident of Enfield and wintered in Naples, FL. He served for over thirty years with the Enfield Police Department retiring as Lt. Detective.
Frank proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He was a longtime member of the Enfield Elks Lodge #2222, and a member of the John Maciolek Post #154 American Legion.

He was a gifted singer and sang in the St. Bernard Church Choir and for the Springfield Opera Company. Frank loved the beach and enjoyed spending a great deal of time at his second home in Misquamicut, RI.
Frank is survived by his children, John J. Rzasa and his wife Suzanne of East Hampton, CT and Carole O’Brien and her husband Thomas of Enfield; Eleven grandchildren, Tom O’Brien and his wife Lisa of Saratoga Springs, NY, David O’Brien of Glastonbury, Dan O’Brien and his wife Andrea of Brookfield, IL, Tim O’Brien and his wife Laura of Tolland, CT, Tod O’Brien and his wife Erin of Wilbraham, MA, Dennis O’Brien and his wife Kellyanne of Wilbraham, MA, Ted O’Brien and his wife Jennifer of Somers, CT, Adrienne Rzasa of Millville, MA, Anne Dooley and her husband Peadar of Stoneham, MA, Sarah Rzasa of Somerville, MA, and John Rzasa of Hartford, CT; twenty great-grandchildren; a loving sister-in-law Ceil Rzasa; his dear friend Eileen (Jean) Zera of Enfield; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings Stanley Rzasa, Edward Zeronsa, William Rzasa, Amelia Zawistowski, and Josephine Ziemnicki.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Frank will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield (Please meet at Church). Burial with military honors will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Frank’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, December 15, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd.
